Hardware and Software Requirements
This topic covers what hardware and software you will need to install the Software Reference Platform. It also includes the requirements for creating custom applications on the iPAQ with the use of the Board Support Package.
Minimal Requirements
This document is part of the iPAQ Reference
Platform, a demonstration of the QNX operating system for Compaq's iPAQ
hardware. Assuming you have downloaded the QNX iPAQ package, you will need
a number of pieces of hardware and software to install the QNX operating
system on your handheld device.
Here is a summary of the required hardware:
Development Requirements
If you plan on doing custom application development,
we recommend that you test your software via a network connection. You
will need a QNX development environment to compile your iPAQ applications.
A version of the QNX operating system is a freely available, while Windows
and Solaris development tools are commercially available. At this time
the Solaris development tools do not support development of graphical applications.

Hardware Support
This release includes drivers and custom startup
code for the iPAQ hardware. Additional drivers may be included with your
QNX development environment.
